Students work on reading, writing, and math to prepare for the GED test. Join the Friends of the Library! The Friends are a volunteer organization that helps to enrich the programs and services provided by the Library. They are looking for passionate members with a fresh perspective to join their team! The Friends organize and hold book sales, support programs like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and Summer Reading Challenge, manage five little free libraries in Barberton, and more. Over the past year, the Friends have set up a donation box in the Library for patrons to donate gently used books. This donation box has been very popular with the patrons and the Friends could use some help going through all of the amazing donations they have received! If you are interested in doing publicity for the Friends, managing their donations and book room, or just helping out your local library, become a Friend to the Library! Fill out a membership application on our website at barbertonlibrary.org/friends. Membership fees start at $5. Friends of the Library Mum Fest Book Sale Let your bookshelves blossom with the Friends’ annual Mum Fest Book Sale! After you’re done enjoying the festivities of the Mum Fest in downtown, stop by the Library to get some good reads at a good price! Books will be $1 unless specially marked. DVDs, CDs, and children’s books are 4/$1. On Sunday, fill a bag of books for $10.
