Library volunteers play an important role as partners in the Library's mission of connecting people to the world of ideas and information. We have a number of rewarding opportunities for volunteers including special projects in the Local History room under the direction of the Local History Librarian, supporting children and teen programming, keeping our collections in order, assisting with clerical work, assisting with the Summer Reading Program, and several other specialized roles.
Are you a good fit to be a volunteer at the Library?
We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteers who help in a variety of ways. The spirit of volunteerism is alive and well in our community and we appreciate our volunteers each and every day. However, sometimes a volunteer simply does not match available opportunities. Here is a quick guide to determine if you would be a good match for our opportunities:
- Age 13 or older
- Looking for an on-going opportunity lasting three months or longer
- Able to commit to an on-going schedule (weekly or monthly) at most 10 hours per week
- Able to pass a criminal background check (age 18+)
If you are interested in volunteering, please review the Volunteer Policy and then complete the volunteer application and return it to the Library during regular business hours. The Library has a separate application for teen volunteers. If you are under 18 please fill out our teen volunteer application.
Thank you for your interest!
