Altered BookLearn how to create a one-of-a-kind work of art using a discarded book. After a brief demo of the techniques, participants may follow the instructions for the butterfly cut-out book or create a version of their own. All supplies will be provided. On May 4, 1970, Ohio National Guard troops fired at Kent State University students who were protesting the expansion and continuation of the Vietnam War. It is the only time in American history where the American military shot and killed American students. The incident sparked hundreds of student strikes across the country, a song by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, two investigations, and several court cases.
